Terms and Conditions for Participation in Mastercard Competition

Mobile Payment Campaign 2026

• Participation in the competition as part of the Mastercard campaign is subject to the following terms and conditions.
• The competition is held by K+R GmbH, Hauptstrasse 81-85, 65760 Eschborn, Germany on behalf of Mastercard Europe SA, Chaussée de Tervuren 198A, 1410 Waterloo, Belgium (Mastercard), in the period from 3 March 2026 until 31 May 2026 (promotion period).
• During the promotion period, participants take part in the prize draw by making a payment with their Mastercard in the mobile wallet via smartphone or smartwatch and by subsequently registering on the campaign landing page (mc-promotion.ch/EN) and answering the competition question. No obligation to purchase applies. It is possible to take part free of charge and enjoy a fair chance to win.
• In both cases mentioned in item 3, the participants must accept these Terms and Conditions for Participation in the competition to participate and thus have the chance to win the prize (see item 5).
• The prize will be given out twice. The prize package for one person and their companion includes comprises an 9-day trip for two adults (at least 18 years of age) and the following benefits:

  - Return flight between Zurich and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (economy class with overnight flight)
  - Travel between your home town and Zurich Airport with SBB in 1st class
  - All transfers in Rio
  - 6 nights in a 5-star hotel (double room incl. breakfast) in Rio
  - Guided excursions with private tour guide
  - Two tickets to visit the carnival parade at the Sambódromo
  - Exclusive dinner experiences
  
  The trip will take place from February 5 to 13, 2027.
• The winner is responsible for ensuring that he/she and his/her companion have the necessary requirements for the trip (vaccinations may be required), in particular valid travel documents and entry to Brazil.
  
  Additional information is available at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).
  
  Any taxes, fees or duties incurred as a result of winning must be paid by the respective winner. The winner must pay for any services beyond the scope of the prize.
• The participation deadline is 31 May 2026 at 23:59:59 CET. Participants may only enter once, multiple registrations for the competition will be ignored.
• Participation requires the entry of the following information at mc-promotion.ch/EN:
  ‍
  - First name, surname
  - Email address
  - Correct answer to the competition question
  - Use of a Mastercard for a mobile payment with a Smartphone or Smartwatch within the promotion period (subject to the possibility of free participation)

• All Mastercard cardholders aged 18 years and above resident in Switzerland may take part in the competition. By registering on the competition’s website, participants confirm that they used their Mastercard abroad (outside the CHF area) during the promotion period (subject to the possibility of free participation). We reserve the right to verify use of the card by the winners in the form of a corresponding receipt.
  Mastercard employees and their relatives as well as persons, companies and service providers working for Mastercard, including their employees and relatives, are not permitted to take part in the prize draw. Competition agents and competition clubs are banned from taking part in the competition. The use of robots or similar tools for data mining or the automatic submission and transfer of data is not permitted.
• The winner will be selected at random from the participant database on 8 June 2026. The winner will be drawn at random and notified of their win by email by the Mastercard promotion office (c/o K+R GmbH). They will be contacted up to three times within seven days of the draw. If it is not possible to contact the winner during this period, or if the winner does not contact the Mastercard promotion office or the card issuer which notified them of their win, the entitlement to the prize shall expire and a new winner will be drawn at random.
• The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred. We will not enter into correspondence regarding the prize draw. The winner is not permitted to sell on or auction the prize or parts thereof. Mastercard or K+R GmbH respectively reserve the right to withhold the prize or parts thereof in case of non-compliance.
• To the extent that this is legally permissible, Mastercard and K+R GmbH assume no liability or responsibility in the context of this competition, its organisation and redemption of the prize. Mastercard or K+R GmbH respectively reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions for Participation at any time with effect for all new participants in the competition. At their own discretion and without consequences regarding liability, Mastercard or K+R GmbH respectively may terminate the competition prematurely, interrupt it or exclude individual participants from taking part in the competition should they identify a risk to the fair and/or correct execution of the competition.
• Mastercard and K+R GmbH do not accept liability for technical website downtime, including network server or hardware errors, viruses, bugs, programming errors or other errors relating to transmission that lie outside their control.
• If individual provisions of these Terms and Conditions for Participation become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
• Swiss law shall apply exclusively. Legal recourse is excluded.
